CINCINNATI — Project officials want to get some answers about delays in delivering the streetcars for Cincinnati's new system.
A report presented recently to city officials said streetcar deliveries could be behind schedule by two to three months. The first had been slated to arrive next month.
CAF USA is building the streetcars in Elmira Heights, New York. The firm has said there have been vehicle testing issues and delays from their sub-suppliers.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that city and regional transit authority officials plan to be at the New York plant over the next few days.
Officials have said the downtown streetcar service launch is still on for Sept. 15, 2016.
CAF USA has a contract for nearly $21 million for building five streetcars for Cincinnati's 3.6-mile route.
