Deputies: 78-year-old woman dies in fire at Bradenton retirement community

BRADENTON, Florida — A 78-year-old woman is dead following a mobile home fire in a Bradenton retirement community.

A Manatee County Sheriff's deputy who was patrolling the area around Bayshore Windmill Village smelled smoke Wednesday afternoon and discovered the fire. Firefighters arrived a short time later and Margaret D. Anderson's body was found after the flames were extinguished.

The Bradenton Herald (http://bit.ly/1BKPygM ) reports she was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The fire marshal is investigating.
