Woman dies after being hit by car in Buffalo; driver charged with vehicular manslaughter, DWI

BUFFALO, New York — Police say a 54-year-old man has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated after a pedestrian was fatally struck in a Buffalo neighborhood.

Officials say the accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Girard Place. Police say a woman in her 40s was hit by a vehicle.

She was taken to Erie County Medical Center, where she later died. Her name and other details haven't been released.

The name of the driver also hasn't been released.
