Firefighter: Burned body found after Oklahoma City house fire; cause of flames unknown

OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City authorities are investigating the death of a person whose body was found after a house fire.

Battalion Chief Brian Stanaland says firefighters were alerted Sunday after smoke was reported coming from the home. He says they found the body with burns.

Stanaland says it appears the victim died in the fire. He didn't identify the fire's origin but says it appeared to be an accident.

The victim's identity hasn't been released.

Stanland says the body has been sent to a medical examiner.
