Wilkinson County Community Work Center escapee captured in Woodville area

WOODVILLE, Mississippi — The Mississippi Department of Corrections says Jeffery McWhorter, who escaped from the Wilkinson County Community Work Center in Woodville, has been captured.

Corrections officials say he was captured early Friday morning in the Woodville area. McWhorter was discovered missing around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

The 20-year-old McWhorter was serving a two-year sentence for a conviction of burglary from Marion County.
