DPS says violent convicted sex offender arrested

AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety says a violent convicted sex offender on the agency's 10 Most Wanted list has been caught in San Antonio.

DPS on Friday announced the arrest of 45-year-old Noah Earl Allen Jr. He was wanted for failure to register as a sex offender.

San Antonio police arrested Allen on Wednesday when he reported to the department to update his delinquent sex offender registration. He was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators say Allen's criminal history includes sexual assault, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and drug counts.
