8 arrested in prostitution sting; operation targets escorts and clients using social media

LAFAYETTE, Louisiana — The Lafayette Metro Narcotics Task Force arrested eight people in a prostitution sting.

The Baton Rouge Advocate (http://bit.ly/1GogCn3 ) reports Stanford Philavong, Joshua Comeaux, Warner Borres, Edgar Castillo and Rolando Garza were charged with soliciting a prostitute. Ashley Green, Savannah Kovarik and Jarvis Curley were arrested for soliciting for prostitution.

A news release from the police says two more women were detained and released pending further investigation related to suspected prostitution.

The task force's sting targeted upscale escorts and their clients who utilize social media as a means of facilitating prostitution deals.
