Promise Amukamara scores 20 as No. 14 Arizona State pulls away from California 67-52

BEREKELEY, California — Promise Amukamara scored 20 points and No. 14 Arizona State closed the game with a 19-6 run to defeat California 67-52 on Friday.

Quinn Dornstauder had 13 points and Kelsey Moos scored all 10 of her points in the second half to go with nine rebounds as the Sun Devils (16-1, 5-0 Pac-12) continued the best start in school history with their 12th-straight win.

Reshanda Gray had 17 points and Gabby Green 13 for the Golden Bears (11-5, 3-2).

California scored five straight to pull within 48-46 but Amukamara answered with a 3-pointer with 10:02 to go and the Sun Devils pulled away. Arizona State got 3-pointers from Dornstauder, Peace Amukamara and Katie Hempen on consecutive possessions to make it 59-49 with 7:12 left. Gray scored Cal's final basket with 6:03 to go and final free throw about a minute later.

ASU shot 52.2 percent and had a 34-23 rebounding edge.
