HUNTINGTON STATION, New York — Authorities say a man has been killed after a wall collapsed at a construction site on Long Island.

It happened at a house on Crabapple Court in Huntington Station at about noon Monday.

Police say Julian Castellanos had been hired to build an outside entrance for a basement apartment.

The contractor had already built two retaining walls and was in the process of building steps when one of the walls collapsed, crushing him.

Police say the 47-year-old man from Huntington was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other workers were at the site at the time of the accident, but were not injured.
