MAGNOLIA, Delaware — Delaware State Police say an intruder choked a Magnolia woman during a home invasion before he may have been scared off when her 5-year-old daughter woke up.

Police say the 27-year-old woman was sleeping in the same bedroom as her daughter when she woke up to a man choking her around 1:30 a.m. Monday.

The woman fought the attacker, and the struggle woke up her 5-year-old.

Police say that may have scared off the attacker, who fled the home and hasn't been found.

The woman and her daughter ran to a nearby neighbor's home and called 911.

Police say the woman was slightly injured in the attack and was treated and released from a local hospital. The girl wasn't hurt.

Anyone with information is asked to call 302-741-2815.
