Police investigate deadly shooting in northwest Atlanta


ATLANTA — Police are investigating a deadly shooting in northwest Atlanta.

Authorities say the gunfire happened shortly after midnight on Wednesday Saint James Drive.

Police said officers arrived at the scene to find the body of a male in his 20s.

Atlanta Police Lt. Charles Hampton tells WXIA-TV that the man died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police tell WSB-TV that they aren't aware of any witnesses to the shooting, nor do they have a motive for the crime.

Few other details were immediately available early Wednesday.
