TRINITY, Alabama — A mental health worker has been killed in a collision while helping to transport children to a treatment program near Trinity.

Multiple news sources report Janie Hurley Owens was killed in the crash Wednesday afternoon when the van she was riding in collided with a dump truck. A Lawrence County state trooper says there were three children on the van at the time of the wreck.
