LabCorp, GoPro, GM, Apple and American Realty are big market movers


NEW YORK — Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Monday on the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Stock Market:


General Motors Co., down 22 cents to $31.18

Sales of some of the automaker's top-selling models faltered last month and it trailed the double-digit gains of other companies.

Laboratory Corp. of America Holdings, down $8.06 to $101.23

The medical testing services company is paying more than $6 billion for Covance, a company that provides drug development services.

Tesoro Corp., up $1.88 to $73.29

The price of crude continues to fall, meaning that the largest input cost for refiners is again hitting multi-year lows.

Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc., down $2.11 to $34.72

Oil companies are pulling back operations due to a glut in energy supplies, which has put pressure on oilfield service companies.


Apple Inc., up $1.40 to $109.40

The Wall Street Journal reported that the tech giant is pondering a new bond sale that could be in the neighborhood of $5 billion.

American Realty Capital Properties Inc., down $1.02 to $7.85

Investment firms are still backing out of deals with the real estate company a week after it acknowledged inaccurate accounting.

Sapient Corp., up $7.28 to $24.60

The French advertising group Publicis said it will buy the Boston marketing, communications and consulting firm for $3.7 billion.

GoPro Inc., up $7.22 to $84.32

A huge third quarter continues to buoy shares of the digital camera maker, which swung to a profit of $14.6 million last week.
