Judge orders former Dunbar mayor to pay fines, other costs sought by W.Va. Ethics Commission

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Kanawha County judge has ordered a former Dunbar mayor to hand over more than $25,000 in unpaid ethics fines and related costs.

The state Ethics Commission sued Roger Wolfe in December.

Wolfe, who was removed from office in 2008, claims he was being unjustly punished.

It had fined Wolfe $15,000 last July and ordered him to pay the city back more than $5,700 in unauthorized reimbursements for meals, mileage and telephone expenses. Wolfe also was ordered to reimburse the commission almost $5,700 in legal expenses.
