Average prices of gallon of gas hits $4 in Washington; 20 cents higher than year ago

BELLEVUE, Washington — The AAA auto club reports the average price of a gallon of gasoline in Washington has hit $4.

That's up 2 cents in a week and 9 cents in a month. It's 20 cents higher than a year ago and 32 cents higher than the current national average.

Some metro prices from AAA's Monday survey:

Bellingham $4.10, Bremerton $4.03, Seattle-Bellevue-Everett $4.06, Tacoma $4.02, Olympia $4.03, Vancouver $3.99, Yakima $3.92, Tri-Cities $3.82, Spokane $3.78.
