Man dies 3 days after near-drowning rescue from Anchorage's Lake Hood

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — An 18-year-old man who was rescued after nearly drowning in Anchorage's Lake Hood has died of his injuries.

KTUU (http://is.gd/SlTSRh) says Jimmy Paul James died Tuesday morning. Police say the teen's mother notified the department of the death.

James was rescued Saturday morning from the lake after authorities were notified that a man was struggling to stay afloat in the water.

James was taken to the Alaska Native Medical Center for treatment.
