16-year-old student hit by car near Broomfield High School dies


BROOMFIELD, Colorado — A 16-year-old student who was hit by a car near Broomfield High School has died.

The Broomfield Enterprise reports ( ) Chad Britton was standing next to a vehicle parked on a street near the school when he was struck at about 11:30 a.m. Monday. The Broomfield High School student died at a hospital Tuesday.

Police say the 17-year-old driver, who was not injured, attends a school in Lafayette. No charges have been filed.

Counselors were on hand at Broomfield High on Monday to speak with staff and students.
