Vigil held to remember Sioux Falls homicide victim; police still searching for woman's killer

SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota — Family and friends of a Sioux Falls woman found slain in her home gathered in front of her house for a vigil to remember Kari Kirkegaard.

The 56-year-old woman was found dead in her bathtub with the water running on March 16. Police are focusing on surveillance videos from nearby businesses as they search for the killer.

Kirkegaard's father, Ron P. Johnson, was one who attended the Wednesday night vigil. He says he wants to see justice served.
