Officials: Homeless woman dies in vacant house fire on Christmas Eve

APOPKA, Florida — Authorities say a central Florida woman died in a suspicious house fire.

The fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve and the house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

WFTV (http://bit.ly/1CLcwIC ) reports officials believe the woman was homeless and may have been living in the vacant home.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office says the fire is suspicious and will be investigated by the state fire marshal.

The woman was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

She has not yet been identified.
