Walden helps Eastern Kentucky hold off late Jacksonville State rally, win 63-57

RICHMOND, Kentucky — Corey Walden had 15 points, eight rebounds and four steals to lead Eastern Kentucky to a 63-57 victory over Jacksonville State on Thursday night.

Eastern Kentucky (18-10, 10-5 Ohio Valley) pulls even with Belmont for first place in the East Division.

Walden scored all his points in the second half, finishing 5 of 11 from the field, and 5 of 5 from the line. Timmy Knipp and Eric Stutz scored 14 point apiece, and Denzel Richardson chipped in nine for the Colonels, who shot 47 percent (22 of 47) from the floor and forced 17 Jacksonville State turnovers.

D.J. Felder hit a 3-pointer to pull Jacksonville State within 55-54 with 2:48 to play. Walden scored six of the Colonels final eight points, and the Gamecocks had two turnovers and missed five of its last six shots to end the game.

Felder scored 21 points to lead Jacksonville State (12-18, 5-10).
