Victory Christian beats Indian Rocks Christian 54-16 in Class 2A football championship

ORLANDO, Florida — Caleb Lewis threw for 384 yards and six touchdown passes to lead Lakeland Victory Christian to a 54-16 win against Largo Indian Rocks Christian in the Florida High School Class 2A state championship game.

Lewis was 23-of-28 passing Friday as the Storm scored 21 unanswered points in the third quarter to break open a 19-9 game at halftime.

It's the first state championship for Victory Christian (12-1), who lost in the 2A finals last year.

The Storm had three 100-yard receivers. Alvin Harper Jr. had eight catches for 124 yards and a touchdown. E'Andre Smith had seven catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns. And Brice Ford had seven catches for 110 yards and three touchdowns.

Cecil Cherry also had a 46-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Indian Rocks Christian (12-1) had a 52-yard touchdown run from Damian King. Jacquan Fuller led the Golden Eagles with 11 carries for 58 yards.

Indian Rocks Christian had five turnovers.
