SPARTANBURG, South Carolina — Southern Conference champion Chattanooga made a near clean sweep of the league's awards with quarterback Jacob Huesman winning offensive player of the year, defensive lineman Davis Tull taking defensive player of the year and Russ Huesman, Rob's father, earning coach of the year.

The Chattanooga trio of winners were selected based on votes by media and coaches.

Chattanooga offensive lineman Corey Levin won the Jacobs Blocking Award given by the coaches.

VMI quarterback Al Cobb won the freshman of the year honor from media and coaches.

The Huesmans led the Mocs to a 9-3 mark and their first outright league championship since 1984. Chattanooga earned a first-round bye in the FCS NCAA playoffs.
