Coroner IDs man fatally shot in Colorado Springs as Robert Carrigan, 54; death ruled homicide


COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado — Authorities have released the name of a man who was shot to death in Colorado Springs.

The El Paso County Coroner's Office identified the victim Thursday as 54-year-old Robert Joseph Carrigan, of Colorado Springs. His death has been ruled a homicide.

The Gazette reports ( ) Carrigan's body was found as police were investigating a burglary in a neighborhood southwest of Colorado College on Tuesday night. Investigators have not said if the death is connected to the burglary.

No other information was released.
