Police: 1 dead, 1 injured in shooting on Detroit's southwest side


DETROIT — Detroit police are investigating after a shooting left one person dead and another injured on the city's southwest side.

Police say one man in his 20s was pronounced dead at a local hospital following the Wednesday night shooting. They say the condition of a 15-year-old boy who also was taken to a hospital isn't known at this time.

Authorities say officers responded to a report of a person suffering a gunshot wound in a street. Police said in a statement that someone had begun firing shots into a crowd following an altercation.

No suspects have been identified in the incident. Further details in the shooting weren't released.
