NASHVILLE, Tennessee — Nashville police have identified the pedestrian who was killed when he was struck by an SUV.

The Police Department said in a release Sunday that 64-year-old Wayne Elam was walking in a crosswalk near his residence around 8 p.m. Saturday when he was struck by the SUV. The driver of the vehicle, 62-year-old Ann Allen, told police she didn't see Elam.

A preliminary investigation indicated failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk was the primary contributing factor to the collision.

No charges have been filed.
