Authorities: Passengers not injured after small airplane crashes in North Carolina

BLADENBORO, North Carolina — Authorities say two people suffered minor injuries when their small plane crashed while trying to take off in North Carolina this weekend.

WECT-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1Jbz8o5 ) that the 1995 two-seater GlasAir airplane was headed for Georgia from the Bladenboro Airport on Saturday.

Bladen County Emergency Services Director Bradley Kinlaw says the plane crashed into a ditch after an unsuccessful take off at 5 p.m.

Authorities say the plane's two passengers were treated at a hospital for minor injuries and were released.

Federal authorities are investigating the crash.
