New Orleans police say woman found in crashed car died from multiple gunshot wounds


NEW ORLEANS — Police say a woman found early Friday inside a crashed car in New Orleans' Central City area has died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators tell The New Orleans Advocate ( ) they were called to the 2000 block of Foucher Street shortly after 3 a.m. on the report of a traffic accident.

They say they found the victim inside a gray Mercedes vehicle that had crashed into a parked car.

The woman was taken to a local hospital where she died.

Officers say the investigation is continuing. They did not release the victim's identity or further details.
