PORTLAND, Maine — An Old Orchard Beach man has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison for stealing prescription drugs from a pharmacy and threatening to shoot the pharmacist.

Billy Schildroth was also sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Portland to three years of probation for his role in the robbery of a Rite Aid store in Old Orchard Beach in February. He pleaded guilty in August.

Prosecutors say the 37-year-old Schildroth was driven to the pharmacy by another man. He put his hand inside his coat and told the pharmacist he had "a gun and five bullets" and threatened to shoot the pharmacist in the face.

He got away with oxycodone and Suboxone.

The other man involved in the robbery was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison last month.
