ORLANDO, Florida — Jarkeice Davis rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns to lead Port St. Joe to a 16-0 victory over Jasper Hamilton County in the Florida high school Class 1A state championship game Friday night.

Port St. Joe (12-2) held Hamilton County to 125 yards and eight first downs. The Sharks won their fourth state championship and first since 2005.

Davis handled the bulk of a rushing attack that gained 224 yards. The Sharks recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff and needed just four plays to take a 7-0 lead when Davis scored on a 12-yard run.

He added another touchdown in the second quarter by scoring from 22 yards out to cap a 12-play, 70-yard drive.

From there the Port St. Joe defense took over with four sacks and two interceptions. Hamilton County quarterback Kentwan Daniels was sacked by Umstead Daniels in the end zone for a safety.

Daniels was 5-of-19 for 36 yards.
