CEDAR CITY, Utah — A 54-year-old Cedar City man has been ordered to stand trial in the fatal shootings of two people at a southern Utah home in February.
Thad Robertson was ordered Wednesday to face two counts of aggravated murder in the deaths of 59-year-old Diann Bailey and 52-year-old Jeffery Lane Hardy.
He also faces charges including possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a restricted person and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police say they responded to reports of a suicidal man Feb. 15 and found Robertson outside the home.
Hardy was found dead at the scene, while Bailey was airlifted to a hospital and died a few days later.
Authorities say Robertson called his daughter after the shooting to say he'd done something stupid and couldn't go to prison.
