OXFORD, Mississippi — For the second year in a row, students who need new shoes but can't afford them will catch a break thanks to the ASICS America Corporation.
The Oxford School District accepted 242 pairs of shoes valued at just under $6,500 this week that will be distributed to less fortunate students.
Superintendent Brian Harvey tells The Oxford Eagle (http://bit.ly/1VDNOyW ) the donation was arranged by a student's parent who works for the shoe company that specializes in athletic equipment and footwear.
Harvey says the shoes will be picked up within the next two weeks and doled out over the course of the year.
