Manchester couple charged with injecting heroin near infant

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire — Manchester police say a couple has been arrested for using heroin near their baby.

Police say two officers patrolling the bicycle path Friday saw a man inject a female with heroin with a baby stroller nearby.

They say when the made contact with the couple, police found a syringe containing heroin in a purse as well as other heroin evidence.

Both 23-old Chelsea Kiman and 28-year-old Jose Arroyo Castillo are charged with possession of a controlled drug and endangering the welfare of a child. Kiman is also charged with violating bail conditions.

They are scheduled to appear in court on Monday. It was not immediately known if they were being represented by lawyers.

Police say the child's grandfather took custody of the infant.
