Possible tornado touches down in Livingston Parish, no injuries, very minor damage

NEW ORLEANS — The National Weather Service is investigating a possible tornado touch down in Livingston Parish.

Meteorologist Robert Ricks says there were reports Sunday night of minor damage to fences about 5 miles southeast of Denham Springs.

Ricks says the sheriff's office reports damage to trees at a second location near the intersection of Louisiana 63 and Highway 442.

Ricks said there were no reports of injuries.

He says a team of meteorologist will head to Livingston Parish Monday to determine if the damage was caused by a tornado or straight line winds.

Ricks says heavy rain and high winds accompanied a cold front that move across the state Sunday night and early Monday morning.
