Magnitude-5.1 earthquake hits Aleutian Islands region; no immediate reports of damage

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A moderate earthquake has hit the Andreanof Islands region of the Aleutians.

The Alaska Earthquake Center says there were no immediate reports of damage caused by the quake, which struck at 11:10 p.m. Friday.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 5.1 and its epicenter was about 125 miles southeast of Atka.
