Pilot injured after small plane crashes in San Diego County

WARNER SPRINGS, California — A pilot suffered moderate injuries after crashing a small plane in northern San Diego County.

CalFire Capt. Kendal Bortisser says the pilot was awake and conscious after the aircraft went down Saturday near the Warner Springs Gliderport.

Sheriff's officials told U-T San Diego (http://bit.ly/1pCEF8V ) the aircraft was a single-seat Piper Pawnee.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
