Police: Albany man charged with shooting man found dead on Schenectady street

SCHENECTADY, New York — Police in the city of Schenectady say they've charged an Albany man with shooting a 24-year-old Schenectady man who was found lying wounded in the street near his home.

Officials tell local media the shooting occurred shortly after 9 p.m. Monday on Paige Street in Schenectady's Hamilton Hill neighborhood. When officers arrived, they found 26-year-old Carlos Figueroa with a gunshot wound to the neck. He was later pronounced dead at Ellis Hospital.

Friday evening, police say they arrested 23-year-old Carson Nunes of Albany. He faces second-degree murder charges.

Police gave no details on a possible motive or circumstances of the shooting.
