Birmingham police investigate deadly shooting on city's north side

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — Birmingham police say they've detained one person in connection with a deadly shooting in the Norwood Gardens area on the city's north side.

Birmingham police spokesman Lt. Sean Edwards said a man was found shot on 32nd Place North around 1:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Edwards tells Al.com (http://bit.ly/1gnviWl) that the victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at UAB Hospital.

Edwards said his identity will be released when family members are notified.

Few other details were available early Wednesday.
