CHICAGO — Cook County prosecutors say a 28-year-old Chicago man has been sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing child pornography.

Andre Alfaro pleaded guilty to possessing hundreds of images and videos depicting child pornography.

Prosecutors say the FBI began investigating in May 2013 after receiving a tip that Alfaro had received a video of child pornography from a convicted sex offender who was already under investigation.

Cook County authorities got a search warrant for Alfaro's home and found a device containing more than 700 images and videos containing child pornography.
