Seattle sends RHP Hector Noesi to Triple-A Tacoma, adds RHP Danny Farquhar

CLEVELAND — The Seattle Mariners have optioned pitcher Hector Noesi, who made an emergency start Thursday, to Triple-A Tacoma.

Noesi replaced scheduled starter Aaron Harang, who came down with a stiff back prior to the game against the Yankees. The right-hander allowed one unearned run in 4 1-3 innings in the Mariners' 3-2 win. Noesi has no record and a 2.63 ERA in five appearances.

The Mariners selected the contract of right-hander Danny Farquhar from Tacoma, where he was 0-1 with six saves and a 2.25 ERA in 15 appearances. To make room on the 40-man roster for Farquhar, right-hander Stephen Pryor was transferred to the 60-day disabled list. Pryor has been on the 15-day DL since April 15 with a torn muscle in his back.
