Baltimore County police officer shoots, injures woman; woman had pulled out gun, police say

PIKESVILLE, Maryland — Baltimore County police say an officer shot and seriously wounded a woman who pulled a gun on him.

It happened around 2 a.m. Saturday when an officer responded to a call about a suspicious person on Northbrook Road in Pikesville.

Police say the officer saw a woman throw a large rock at a house, smashing a window, and then pulled out a handgun.

The police department says the woman refused to drop the gun and the officer then shot her several times. The woman was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

Police didn't immediately release the name of the officer or the woman.
