HUDSON BEACH, Florida — Crews from the United States Coast Guard and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are searching for two men who sent a mayday call, saying their 29-foot fishing boat was taking on water in the Gulf of Mexico.

The call came in from someone who heard the call early Tuesday morning. The man told the Coast Guard the vessel is called Miss Melody and it was located about eight miles off the coast of Hudson Beach, which is north of Clearwater.

Coast Guard officials say 29-year-old Anthony Coffey and 17-year-old William Coffey were on the boat.

A number of boats and helicopters are searching for the men.
