ORO VALLEY, Arizona — Authorities in southern Arizona say a sex offender is in custody for allegedly entering a home through an unlocked garage door.

Oro Valley police say 41-year-old Shane Johnson has been booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center on suspicion of burglary and kidnapping.

Police responded to a 911 call about a possible intruder inside the residence.

Officers say Johnson was found hiding in his vehicle, which was parked close to the home.

Police say officers responded to the same neighborhood hours earlier about a home alarm going off and a window found open.

It was unclear Friday if Johnson has a lawyer.
