21 meat processors to participate in program where hunters donate venison to hungry


LINCOLN, Nebraska — Twenty-one meat processors will participate in this year's Hunters Helping the Hungry program.

The program, administered by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, combines cash donations and donated deer for ground venison to distribute to Nebraskans in need.

Deer hunters may donate deer at any contracted Hunters Helping the Hungry processor beginning with the start of the archery season on Sept. 1. The most up-to-date list of processors accepting deer for the program will be available at .

The participating meat processors can be found across the state, from Bayard to Omaha.
