DAYTONA BEACH, Florida — Officials say dry weather sparked a fire that led to shutdowns on Interstate 95 in central Florida.

A Volusia County spokeswoman says a 14-acre brush fire in the southern part of the county caused I-95 to close Friday afternoon.

Meteorologist Will Ulrich told The Daytona Beach News-Journal (http://goo.gl/f8ADRL ) that there has been an enhanced threat of wildfires due to drier-than-normal conditions and a rainfall shortage for central coastal cities.

Ulrich says there's no rain in Saturday's forecast, but the area might get rain by Sunday or Monday.
