Western Pa. girl, 16, parents sue over her molestation by teacher hired to lead school musical

CHARLEROI, Pennsylvania — A 16-year-old girl and her parents have sued two school districts and two teachers — one of whom is serving four to eight years in prison for having sex with the girl after he was hired to direct a high school musical in a nearby district.

Twenty-four-year-old Jeffrey Hahn was a seventh grade teacher at the Bethlehem-Center School District but allegedly committed the crimes last May at the Charleroi Area Junior-Senior High School auditorium, where he was directing the musical.

The (Washington) Observer-Reporter (http://bit.ly/16BNMCO ) reports the lawsuit seeks "substantial" but unspecified damages against both districts, Hahn and a Charleroi teacher who allegedly didn't properly report the abuse. She is no longer with the district.

Officials with the districts did not immediately comment on the lawsuit.
