MOBILE, Alabama — Alabama authorities say a man has been charged with murder for striking and killing a pedestrian with his pickup truck.

Al.com reports (http://bit.ly/1gGACvQ ) 53-year-old Joseph Miller died Friday when he was hit by a Ford Ranger truck in southern Mobile County.

Alabama state troopers say the driver of the truck, 27-year-old David Muir, was intoxicated behind the wheel. After Muir was treated at a hospital for non-life threatening injuries, investigators charged Muir with murder and took him jail. It was not immediately known if Muir had an attorney.
