Shreveport man arrested for stealing from church under construction

SHREVEPORT, Louisiana — A Shreveport man has been arrested for stealing items from a church under construction in south Caddo Parish.

Sheriff Steve Prator says 38-year-old Christopher Michael Allen was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for burglary of a religious building. It was unknown if Allen has an attorney who could comment on the case.

Cpl. Sean McCullough, in a news release Wednesday, said the burglary occurred Sunday at the Holy Nativity Orthodox Church. A security camera captured video of a 2009 red Ford Ranger entering and leaving the property.

McCullough traced the vehicle back to Allen and recovered a stolen generator at his home in Shreveport.
