CHEYENNE, Wyoming — Interstates in southern Wyoming are back open but light trailers aren't recommended on parts of Interstate 80 because of continued strong winds.
About 200 miles of I-80 was closed Tuesday afternoon along with a section of Interstate 25 south of Cheyenne to the Colorado state line. Winds as high as 89 mph were recorded in Platte County.
More strong winds and blowing and drifting snow are expected Wednesday in southeast and central Wyoming. The National Weather Service says westerly winds will gust between 40 and 50 mph along and west of the Laramie Range.
