New Bedford man pleads not guilty to killing his girlfriend's 9-month-old daughter

FALL RIVER, Massachusetts — A New Bedford man charged with beating and killing his girlfriend's 9-month-old daughter has pleaded not guilty.

Ethen Harrison was ordered held without bail at his arraignment Tuesday in Fall River Superior Court on a murder charge.

Prosecutors say the 21-year-old Harrison killed 9-month-old Ariel Eluziario in January when he was alone with the child. Court documents say Harrison told police he was angry when Ariel became "fussy." She died at a hospital of head trauma.

The Standard-Times (http://bit.ly/13xgwZv ) reports that the prosecutor told the court that the district attorney's office has not received the full autopsy results but expects them soon.

A defense attorney said he has questions about Harrison's psychological background and his experience in caring for children.
