Spokane Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich reviews shooting that wounded 2 deputies, left suspect dead

SPOKANE, Washington — Spokane Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich (kuh-NEZ'-oh-vich) says several errors were made in the weeks leading up to last June's shootout that left two deputies wounded and the suspect dead.

The sheriff told KREM (http://bit.ly/12aVbD7 ) it was never reported that Charles Wallace had walked away from a drug rehab facility. And earlier incident reports about Wallace didn't mention that he had threatened to shoot police if they tried to re-arrest him.

The sheriff is working to improve his officers' reports and to clarify rules for information about rehab residents.

Wallace killed himself after a rolling gunfight in a stolen car in which he wounded two deputies.
